Automatic gemstone color sorting machine

วิทยาลัยนวัตกรรมการผลิตขั้นสูง

Automatic gemstone color sorting machine

This research aims to develop an automatic gemstone color sorting machine to overcome the limitations of manual color sorting, which can be restricted by speed and accuracy. This study applies deep learning technology to analyze and classify gemstone colors precisely, developing an algorithm capable of accurately detecting and categorizing color shades. An automated conveyor system was also designed to efficiently transport gemstones through the color sorting process, allowing for continuous operation. The sorting machine works by capturing high-resolution images of the gemstones, processing them with software to classify color shades, and directing each gemstone to its designated position on the automated conveyor. Experimental results demonstrate that the automated color sorting machine, integrated with the conveyor system, achieves high speed and accuracy, significantly reducing labor costs and enhancing the efficiency of gemstone color sorting.

Developing Rice Starch-Rice Bran Polyphenol Complexes for Glycemic Control Using Green Processing

Zero-waste management is crucial for sustainable food systems, promoting the use of agricultural by-products like rice bran. Rich in bioactive polyphenols with antioxidant and antidiabetic properties, rice bran can enhance the nutritional value of food. Polyphenols can slow starch digestion by forming complexes with starch, making them useful for creating low-glycemic foods. While ultrasonication and freeze-thaw treatments have been beneficial individually, their combined effects on starch-polyphenol complexation remain understudied. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of combining these treatments on the interaction between rice starch and red rice bran polyphenols. The dual treatment increased the complexing index, altered functional properties, and affected granule morphology. Structural analysis indicated non-covalent interactions forming non-V-type complexes. Additionally, starch digestibility was reduced, lowering the estimated glycemic index (eGI) compared to the control. These findings suggest a sustainable and green approach to starch modification, with potential for developing functional food products and advancing zero-waste processing.

Sustainable Water Hyacinth Disposal electric smart boat Innovation

The Water Hyacinth Removal Electric Smart Boat is a small, streamlined boat capable of working in any area. Even small areas with a lot of water hyacinth volumes with advanced technology that the researcher has created and designed. The structure of the boat is made of aluminum material, is 4.80 meters long and 1.20 meters wide, and is powered by a diesel engine 14 hp. Reinforcing drive in tandem with spinning, chopping weeds and the ability to remove water hyacinths by spinning 3-5 per day with only one operator on boat. Therefore, the control and removal of water hyacinths by smart boat works better than conventional mechanization. It can work quickly and at a low cost. This water hyacinth removal electric smart boat concept will be built on the original system.

Golden Banana Fries

Abstract: Banana French Fries This project aimed to study and develop the product Banana French Fries, which is a snack made by frying bananas in a form similar to French fries, in order to add value to bananas and create new choices for consumers. The experiment consisted of selecting suitable banana varieties, developing a coating formula, and testing the taste of samples. The results of the study found that Nam Wa bananas are the most suitable for making banana French fries because they have a firm texture and naturally sweet taste. The best coating formula consists of wheat flour, eggs, and milk, which provide longer crispiness. The taste test found that most consumers gave a very good response and were satisfied with the taste and texture. This project shows that banana French fries are a product with potential to be developed as a healthy snack and can be further developed into a commercial product in the future.

3D Soundscape Healing: The L-R Beat Exploration in Binaural Beats Therapy

This project explores the therapeutic potential of binaural beats within a 3D soundscape environment, focusing on the effects of left-right (L-R) beating sound positioning. Using Dolby Atmos technology to create immersive auditory experiences, the research aims to investigate how varying spatial beating sound placements in binaural beat therapy influence mental and emotional healing. Binaural beats, a form of auditory brainwave entrainment, have been shown to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and enhance cognitive performance. However, there has been limited exploration of how spatial sound technologies, like Dolby Atmos, can enhance the efficacy of these therapies. This study examines how different beating L-R configurations in a 3D soundscape impact the listener’s perception and therapeutic outcomes. Participants will experience binaural beat sessions in various beating L-R orientations, and physiological and psychological measures, such as heart rate variability and self-reported relaxation levels, will be assessed. The results are expected to provide new insights into the interaction between spatial audio environments and sound-based therapies, potentially improving sound therapy practices by leveraging advanced audio technologies.

Developing Thai Sai Oua from Young Jackfruit

This research aims to develop plant-based Thai traditional sausage(Sai oua) using young jackfruit as the main raw material. To be an alternative to replace meat by studying the development of formula, changes in physical and physical chemistry during the preservation of the product, young jackfruit has dominant properties of meat-like fibres and can absorb the smell and taste of spices well. The results of the study found that young jackfruit that have been boiled at 100 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes have the fibre closest to cooked chicken. In addition, the study of changes during storage at different temperatures found that the colour and Water Activity (Aw) have changed slightly. While the pH value (pH) decreased and the value of Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substances (T-BARS) increased. In terms of texture, it was found that the toughness increased and the elasticity decreased. Compared to the control formula, this study suggests that young jackfruit is a suitable raw material for the production of fillings from plants.

Development of Mango Powder using the Foam-mat Method with Hydroxypropyl Methyl cellulose is a foaming agent

This research focuses on the development of mango powder using the foam-mat drying method, which is an effective technique for preserving the quality of fruit and vegetable products. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) was used as a foaming agent. The study evaluated the effects of HPMC on the chemical and physical properties, antioxidant activity, and shelf life of mango powder. The findings indicated that HPMC plays a crucial role in improving the foam stability before drying and enhancing the quality of the dried powder. This research provides a valuable approach to adding value to substandard mango yields and reducing agricultural waste. It also contributes to the development of high-nutritional processed food products with extended shelf life.

Astaxanthin-rich Oil Extracted with Ultrasound Assisted-Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent from the Byproduct of Black Tiger Shrimp (Panaeus monodon).

The study investigated the extraction of astaxanthin-rich oil from shrimp waste biomass, a valuable byproduct rich in functional lipids and proteins. Wet rendering has long been an inexpensive method to extract oil, however the high temperatures and long cooking times negatively affect the amount of astaxanthin. On the other hand, the study looked into employing deep eutectic solvent as a green solvent and combining a wet rendering process with high-shear homogenization and high-frequency ultrasound-assisted extractions. DES-UAE at 60% amplitude and wet rendering at 60 °C were found to be the ideal conditions, as were DES-HAE at 13,000 rpm and wet rendering at 60 °C. With a notable increase in oil yields of 16.80% and 20.12%, respectively, and improved oil quality (lower acid and peroxide values) in comparison to the conventional wet rendering, experimental validation validated the effectiveness of the DES-HAE and DES-UAE procedures. DES-UAE notably raised the amount of astaxanthin. This study demonstrates that DES-HAE and DES-UAE are quicker, lower-temperature substitutes for obtaining premium, astaxanthin-rich shrimp oil, resulting in more effective use of this priceless byproduct.
